Low weight is clearly the Dyno’s main feature. To get it, several steps have been taken. The Lazy Pump inflation system was eliminated because single-point inflation of course adds weight. Thinner bladder material and a lighter Dacron have been used in the inflatable elements. Two extra segments are put in the arc between the quarter ribs, which produced a slightly truer aerofoil in the center lifting area. Construction details that contribute crucially to function and durability remain, others were eliminated.

What will be the changes to the 16m North Dyno for 2012 and are they significant compared to the 2011? Do you see any issues using a Dyno for snow kiting given the lighter weight construction and thinner bladders? Is there a difference between the North 4-line bar and their 5-line bar as I am leaning towards getting the 5-line to help with light wind relaunch on the water. Do you have to run the 5th line on the snow or is it the only safety for the 5-line bar? Thanks!!

We do not have the new details on the 2012 Dyno at this time. There will most likely be 13m, 16m and a 18.5m. The fifth line does not make the kite fly better but it does make the relaunch MUCH easier. I would use the 5 line unless you only have four line bar…..Check out the dyno video I made last spring.
